Data released last week shows that sales of foreclosed homes were down slightly in the last quarter of 2011. Some more good news for the housing market! The Sales Data released by the National Association of Realtors also shows that for all of 2011, sales of existing homes rose 1.7%. That's an increase of 4.26 million homes! December sales alone totalled 4.61 million. Low mortgage rates, a nice variety of homes available, and great prices are a winning combination!

Calling All Homebuyers! Mortgage Rates are still hitting Record Lows! 30 year fixed rates fell to as low as 3.75%-which is even lower than the 3.91% rate of 4 weeks ago! Rates on a 15 year fixed are stilll setting records-some are down to 3.0%! Let's go Shopping for a New Home!

 Here's some exciting news..Did you know that Forbes magazine has ranked Eau Claire 38th on it's List of Best Small Places for  Business and Careers? (That's 38th and climbing!)

For those of you who follow economic news, Warren Buffet is very optimistic about Real Estate! According to Warren, we are moving toward the million new housing starts figure. He predicts that when we eventually reach that goal, the resulting job creation will bring an unemployment rate of 7% and a fresh start for the US.

  The winner of the People's Choice Award for the Eau Claire Sculpture Tour was "High Five" by Louise Peterson! (That's the Great Dane with his paw extended.) Kelvin & his fellow Kiwanians set up the dinner tables & the Christmas tree for the party for employees at the Career Development Center. This just one of several volunteer activities Kiwanis does in the community throughout the year. If you would be interested in joining Kiwanis, give Kelvin from Kleven a call.
